German born drummer Walter Maclean spent most of his childhood between Germany and Ghana. At age 12, he had his first drum lesson with Master Drummer Adja Addy (Tigari priest from Ghana) and began his professional career in drums and percussion at 17. He furthered his studies in Holland (Nippy Noya, modern percussion and Tata Guiness, Cuban drumming). Prior to moving with his wife to Canada in 1994, Walter toured extensively throughout Europe, Hong Kong and the US with several music bands spanning the musical gamut. Currently living and performing in Toronto, Walter has toured throughout Canada with Ballet Creole, the Afro Nubians and COBA.
